While Selena Gomez is cavorting around Saint-Tropez with her hunk of man meat, Justin Bieber, not to be outdone by his former gal pal, has posted an Instagram photo of a Guess jeans ad captioned, “Who is this Guess Model. She’s Stunning.”
And in a development worthy of a Jane Austen novel, Confidenti@l has learned that Bieber and the object of his affections, fellow Canadian Danielle Knudson, are on the road to romance.

“Justin and Danielle happen to have a few mutual friends, and about four people passed her number on to Justin the same day that he posted it,” says a pal of both. “Danielle’s in Miami for Swim Week, she’s single, and she decided to text him. Now they’re texting back and forth, and they’re planning to meet. Danielle is based in New York and she’s always traveling, but they’re planning to get together next time she’s in LA. Justin’s single right now, too, so why not?” says our source. Heartwarming stuff.
“She’s an up-and-coming model, and she’s super sweet,” added the source. “Friends have been trying to set her up for a while, so it worked well!”
Knudson, who reposted Bieber’s picture, adding, “Thanks for the shout out my fellow Canadian,” is with the Wilhelmina modeling agency and recently landed her first Guess campaign.
There may have been more to the “Boyfriend” singer’s very public overture than meets the eye. His post popped up just as his endlessly off-again-on-again girlfriend Gomez — with whom he has long traded cryptic barbs over social media — was getting close to a new guy.
A bikini-clad Gomez was pictured on a yacht in Saint-Tropez snuggling up to Italian businessman Tommaso (Tommy) Chiabra, founder of the Royal Yacht company, who was recently linked to “Gossip Girl” Jessica Szohr.
Exhaustingly, Szohr also joined the passive-aggressive social-media fray after the shots appeared, posting a quote, presumably directed at Chiabra, to Twitter: “You want to come in my life, the door is open. You want to get out of my life, the door is open. Just one request. Don’t stand at the door, you’re blocking traffic.”
