One Direction have revealed plans for a follow-up to their concert film This Is Us.

In a video message, the five-piece boy band said the new movie, titled Where We Are, will hit cinemas for one weekend only on 11 and 12 October, followed by a DVD release. According to Digital Spy, it will feature footage from a recent concert at Milan's San Siro stadium and is aimed at fans unable to get tickets for the band's current tour.

It was not immediately clear whether director Morgan Spurlock, the acclaimed US documentarian who oversaw This Is Us, is involved in Where We Are. However, the new film is understood to be a production from the same team as its predecessor, which was produced by Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment.

Spurlock revealed in May that his team were following One Direction on their recent world tour with one eye on a new film. This Is Us, released in August 2013, took £40m worldwide.
