Why Is Beyonce Sharing The First Fifty Shades Of Grey Teaser?

The singer posted the clip online ahead of the full release of the promo on Thursday.Beyonce teased fans with a clip from the trailer of the much awaited 2015 film Fifty Shades of Grey on Saturday night, with the sultry teaser featuring Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson and her own breathy vocals. But why is Bee the one sharing the steamy footage?

The singer posted a short video on Instagram ahead of the release of the full promo for the movie, which is due out in cinemas on February 13 next year. The Instagram post had received more than 291,000 likes and more than 51,000 comments at the time of writing.

The clip reveals that the full trailer will be released this Thursday and opens with a breathy sound reflective of the suggestive nature of the books on which the films are based.

Movie fans are left to imagine what’s to come as they see Christian Grey, who is played by Jamie Dornan, tap his hand as he rests high up in a tower block against an office window, touches a woman’s thigh and lets himself into what looks like the famous red room of pain. The action plays out against a slowed down remix of Beyonce's mega hit Crazy in Love.

Beyonce’s post sparked speculation that the singer may be involved in the film’s soundtrack. Back in March we got our first hint at the superstar's involvement when Universal unveiled the first glimpse of footage to a select few at their CinemaCon presentation in Vegas.

During one scene in the footage (when the camera panned over Christian's collection of S&M toys), Beyonce's album track Haunted, from her self-titled release at the end of last year, could be heard in the background.

Does all this mean the Queen of pop is in charge of the hugely hyped movie's soundtrack or is she simply a massive FSOG fanatic?

We'll no doubt hear more about Beyonce's involvement in the film when the first full trailer is released to fans on Thursday 24 July, with Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson expected to introduce the teaser during a two day Today Show special dedicated to the new movie.

Also starring Rita Ora and directed by Sam Taylor Johnson the movie based on EL James' multi-million selling novel will hit cinemas next February.

While the first Fifty Shades movie is still seven months away from opening, Tracking Board recently reported that Universal "is actively moving ahead" with a follow-up, based on James' book Fifty Shades Darker.

With the first film expected to easily make back its estimated $40 million budget, it's not a huge surprise that the studio wants to cash in and get cracking on another potential money spinner. Here's hoping the first one lives up to all the hype.
