Robin Thicke’s terrible acting debut in Making the Rules with Jaime Pressly

BASHING scandal-prone R&B crooner Robin Thicke has become something of an internet sport of late, and frankly, we think it should stop.

RIGHT AFTER THIS.

It seems the singer, whose creepy new album Paula infamously debuted in the lower, lower reaches of charts worldwide this month, probably doesn’t have an acting career to fall back on now the whole singing thing’s gone tits-up.

Footage has emerged showing Thicke’s one and only film role to date, in the romance flick Making the Rules, which was quietly released straight to DVD back in May.

Appearing opposite My Name Is Earl actress Jaime Pressly, Thicke displays about as much acting talent as an immaculately coiffured piece of toast in this low budget stinker.

Pressly plays workaholic chef Abby who, after cutting her hand at work, is forced to do nothing during one of LA’s hottest summers (the steamy weather being a metaphor for the rising fire in her loins, dontchasee).

As the heat rises, she faces daily boredom with her husband and the temptation of an ex-boyfriend who suddenly reappears on the scene.

That ex-boyfriend is played by Robin Thicke, and tempting he is — if you’re into guys who lurk around laundromats all day wearing custom jewellery and heavy leather jackets in the middle of summer.

Vulture has handily cut together a few of Thicke’s lowlights from the film. Watch below (language warning — Thicke drops a couple of F-bombs, he’s cool like that) and marvel at how someone can inject a delivery of the name Abby with such hidden depths of meaning:

Check out the trailer for the film, which inexplicably also stars actual talented actors Joey Lauren Adams and Six Feet Under’s Frances Conroy, below:
