Ben Affleck’s ‘Batman V Superman’ Suit At Comic-Con: See The Pic

Looks like someone is ready to go cowl tipping.
Is still far from a sure thing that “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice” will make an appearance once Warner Bros. takes the stage at San Diego Comic-Con (or, if you prefer, “Batman V Superman V Star Wars: SuperJedi,” as teased by director Zack Snyder). But one thing is clear: Ben Affleck’s costume from the movie did make it to the convention floor, as revealed on DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Dan Didio’s Twitter feed:

It’s all part of the celebration of Batman’s 75th Anniversary, but certainly begs the question of whether Affleck made it with his suit, or is just somewhere in Michigan on set carousing in the nude.

At the very least, this gives us one of our first non-stylized looks at the cape and cowl after it was first revealed by Snyder on May 13. On display are the shorter bat-ears than we’re used to from the Nolan movies, or even the earlier, Burton interpretations.

The cape, meanwhile, offers a, “a very low drag coefficient,” according to Co-Publisher Jim Lee in an interview with USA Today.

While that’s bad news for drag queens, that’s probably good news for Affleck’s action sequences in “Batman V Superman.” One of the biggest criticisms of the batsuits in every Batman movie has been the lack of movement allowed by the usually stiff costumes. Whether Lee’s estimation of the cape applies to the rest of the suit, we’ll have to wait and see.

And if we were betting men, we’d say we’ll only have to wait and see until the full costume is unveiled after the Warner Bros’ panel on July 26. But that’s just speculation.

“Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice” opens in theaters on May 6, 2016.
