Sheffield beauty showcase is a stylish success

Hair and beauty businesses across Sheffield joined forces at an event to showcase what the industry has to offer.

The evening – at Revolucion De Cuba in Mappin Street in the city centre – brought together representatives from companies including Sheffield-based Fruition hair, Boudoir salon and Anna Roberts clothing.

Self-employed make-up artist and beauty blogger Georgina Grogan gave guests makeovers on the night.

The 19-year-old, of Emerson Crescent, Firth Park, Sheffield, said: “I was over the moon to be asked to work the show.

“After already working with Fruition for my blog, I admired how they wanted to make Sheffield the place to be.

“The event was a huge success and everyone seemed impressed with the companies who turned up.”

The Relaxation Den, of Wollaton Road, Bradway, offered free beauty treatments, while staff from the Meadowhall shopping centre branch of cosmetics retailer Lush gave product demonstrations.

Entertainment also included a guest appearance from Lateysha Grace, from MTV reality show The Valleys, live music and a hair extension demonstration.

Event organiser Anthony Cunningham said: “The night went well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

“Hopefully, people will want to put on similar events in the future.”

A raffle held on the night raised £271 for Sheffield Hospitals Charity which supports thousands of patients at hospitals across the city.
