GLEE star Naya Rivera chose glamorous Cabo San Lucas, in Mexico, for her surprise wedding to fellow actor Ryan Dorsey last week.
Rivera fell in love with the seaside village after holidaying there in May with Glee co-star Kevin McHale, who plays Artie Abrams on the show.
The wedding was held on July 19, to celebrate Dorsey’s birthday. Friends for more than four years, the couple’s relationship blossomed into love when Rivera’s six-month engagement to rapper Big Sean ended in April.
Rivera and Dorsey married in front of just 12 guests at the Las Ventanas al Paraiso resort in Cabo San Lucas, including Naya’s mother Yolanda and stepfather (her father, George Rivera, didn’t attend), Ryan’s dad Arnold, his wife, Rhonda, Ryan’s mother Cheryl, her husband David, and Ryan’s brother Aaron.
Rivera wore a Monique Lhuillier gown and carried a bouquet of daisies and baby’s breath. Dorsey wore a Dolce & Gabbana suit and went barefoot in the sand.
Later, guests dined on steak, prawns, sea bass and lobster.
The couple shared photographs of the wedding with People and told the magazine: “We feel truly blessed to be joined as husband and wife. Our special day was fated and everything we could have ever asked for.”
The next day, the pair shared photographs on Instagram of themselves riding horses on the beach with their wedding guests.
Rivera has already changed her name to Naya Rivera Dorsey on social media.
