Lil’ Kim remixed the ‘Flawless’ remix

Lil’ Kim added a postscript of sorts to Beyoncé’s buzzed-about “Flawless” remix Monday night when she took to social media to share her own version. (You can listen to the NSFW track here.) Kim enters the track right after Minaj says “the Queen of Rap, slaying with Queen B.”

Kim clearly took that as a vocal cue — her nickname is, of course, Queen Bee, and she refers to herself as the Queen of Rap in her Twitter bio. “Am I tripping or did this h– just say my name? Queen of rap, [expletive] outta here, Queen is back [expletive] outta here,” she raps and then proceeds to say a series of not-so-nice things about Minaj. She also updates us on what she’s been up to (“I just had a baby ’bout a week ago”).
The reaction from Twitter users was pretty swift. As Kim herself tweeted, she became a trending topic. Here’s a sampling of the reactions to Kim’s addition to the track:

The tension between Kim and Minaj is well-documented. To recap: The Flawless remix is not the first track on which Kim takes shots at Minaj. And Minaj is believed to have returned the favor, though her disses have been a bit more thinly-veiled. Take, for instance, her song “Roman’s Revenge,” in which she aims numerous barbs at an unnamed enemy. Among the more PG-rated lyrics: “You outta work, I know it’s tough, but enough is enough.”  As noted by MTV News, Minaj addressed speculation around the song in an interview on “The Wendy Williams Show.” “My fans know who I’m talking about, what I’m talking about” Minaj told Williams in 2010. “I don’t have to sit up here and detail it.”

For her part, Kim has alleged that Minaj has copied her style without giving proper credit. And Minaj, who has admitted to growing up a Lil’ Kim fan, has implied that her success has given Kim’s career a boost.
There doesn’t seem to be any official response (or Lil’ Kim-filtered Instagrams) from Beyoncé or Minaj, who has been tweeting about the success of her latest single, “Anaconda.”
